Remember when our traditional TV channels went from analog to digital? Well one of the reasons was so the FCC could re-utilize those frequencies to create a new way to provide Internet access for those who could receive TV signals. It looks like they're one step closer. The IEEE (professional engineering organization) has approved a new wireless standard: 802.22TM-2011. Speeds will cap at 22 megabits per second at a distance of 100 kilometers.
